Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner joked on social media that the Indianapolis Colts should sign him to a 10-day contract after showing off his throwing ability.

Myles Turner is toning up his body this summer for the upcoming season with the Indiana Pacers, but perhaps the Indianapolis Colts should give him a shot during their preseason games.

Turner is spending time at the Athletic Performance Ranch in Fort Worth, Texas to continue building up muscle this offseason. Trainers are putting Myles through drills in the Texas heat, the weight room, and on the basketball court to get him ready for the upcoming season.

Turner had some fun while he was on the football field, too, showing off impressive arm strength and joking on social media that the Indianapolis Colts should sign him.

Sorry, Jacoby Brissett, but Andrew Luck has a new backup.

Back in reality, however, his time at the APR is more than just adding muscle. If Turner bulks up and can use that on the basketball court, that’s a win for him and the Pacers.

Turner already plays decent in the post as far as the numbers are concerned. He is an average defender and above average scorer.

Unfortunately, due to his lack of comparative strength, opposing teams often feel comfortable going against him there and get average results. Offensively, Indiana is better off with Turner stretching the floor but if he could post up defenders more often that would give him more versatility.

Turner isn’t turning into a tank no matter how much he works out, but getting more physical and so he can dish out and take more punishment is certainly possible. Physicality is a state of mind, according to some, and all this work can create the confidence Turner needs to get nastier more often on the floor.

With Victor Oladipo winning the NBA’s Most Improved Player Award, perhaps Myles is looking at becoming the 6th Pacers player to win the award with these workouts.
