The Indiana Pacers have said they are focused on beating the New York Knicks on Wednesday night, but it is clear that they are thinking of Chris Copeland, too, as he recovers in a New York hospital.

Both Paul George and Solomon Hill wore headbands tonight while playing in Madison Square Garden — the arena where Copeland made a name for himself in the NBA. Normally, neither George nor Hill ever wear headbands.

Paul George talked about the tribute after the game, per Candace Buckner of the Indianapolis Star.

"“That’s what tonight was for. Just thinking about Cope,” said George, who also revealed how he could not shake thoughts about his teammate’s well being. “The whole night. I sit next to Cope every game. He’s right next to me. For him not to be out there – I feel like all of our conversations are on the bench, so it was tough not seeing him and not having him right next to me. It’s just unfortunate, he’s the last guy I’d ever expect that to happen to.”"

Chris Copeland was stabbed in an incident early Wednesday morning, along with two women, at a New York club.

Luis Scola spoke on the incident earlier today before the game.

It is nice to see his teammates keeping him on their minds as they go out and play.

Even if they aren’t all wearing headbands, it appears the players have Chris Copeland on their minds as they face his former team.
