Pacers injury report vs. Grizzlies: Andrew Nembhard, Zach Edey, and more
For the first game of December, the Indiana Pacers will travel on the road to take on the Memphis Grizzlies for the first time this season. This game will mark the first of Indiana's four-game road trip. Additionally, the Grizzlies have a tough stretch ahead of them as nine of their next 11 games are all on the road.
The Pacers are looking to bounce back after their loss to the Detroit Pistons on Friday, which ended the team's three-game winning streak. Ahead of today's matchup in Memphis, the Pacers are 9-11 and own the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference. Memphis enters today's game with a 13-7 record and a five-game winning streak.
Here is the full injury report for the Pacers and Grizzlies.
12/1 Pacers injury report
- Isaiah Jackson (Achilles) - OUT
- Andrew Nembhard (knee) - QUESTIONABLE
- Aaron Nesmith (ankle) - OUT
- Ben Sheppard (oblique) - OUT
- James Wiseman (Achilles) - OUT
The Pacers' injury report looks mostly the same as it has over the last few games. However, there is one notable difference that should catch the attention of Pacers fans.
Since being out of action for nearly one month due to a knee injury, guard Andrew Nembhard is now listed as questionable for the first time in weeks. There is still no guarantee he will play (and he will likely be on a minutes restriction if he does), but this is a promising development for Nembhard and the Pacers.
Aaron Nesmith, who also has been sidelined for a month, remains out of action. However, he could return to the court soon as head coach Rick Carlisle said Nesmith will remain out until at least the start of December.
The Pacers continue to be without Ben Sheppard, who has no concrete timetable for his return as he recovers from an oblique injury. In his place, the Pacers have relied more heavily on Quenton Jackson.
12/1 Grizzlies injury report
- Zach Edey (ankle) - OUT
- GG Jackson (foot) - OUT
- Vince Williams Jr. (anke) - OUT
The Grizzlies will be without rookie center Zach Edey for the seventh consecutive game as he deals with an ankle injury. Prior to his injury, Edey was looking like a legitimate Rookie of the Year candidate, averaging 11.1 points on 61% shooting and 6.9 rebounds per game.
GG Jackson had a solid rookie season last year. However, he had surgery on his right foot ahead of his sophomore season and has yet to return to the court. In October, Jackson revealed that he is eying a return between late December and mid-January.
Memphis will continue to play without Vince Williams Jr., who will miss roughly a month due to an ankle injury he suffered in November.
