The buzz around the NBA is starting to grow to a high for the year as many teams are looking to improve their current rosters, including the Pacers.

Just in the last week alone the Pacers have been linked to multiple different teams and trade rumors through credible sources:

But a new bit of information dropped today that may indicate that the Pacers are looking at a different direction to fill their starting power forward role for next year, free agency.

Marc Stein who generally is well-connected with the Pacers is reporting that the team may be looking to Sacramento to add their forward for the future:

"“League sources say that the Pacers have interest in Kings free agent-to-be Harrison Barnes, thanks at least in part to two rather prominent Barnes fans in the organization: All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton (who played with Barnes in Sacramento) and Pacers coach Rick Carlisle (who coached Barnes in Dallas).”"

The indication is that Harrison Barnes is well liked by the organization and the sides clearly have a good trading relationship given the win-win trade they pulled off last summer moving Haliburton and Sabonis to ultimately improve both teams.

It’s unclear if this is a fallback option, where is one of the previous linked trade doesn’t pan out that Barnes will be a primary target for the upcoming year, or if this is the first-plan of attack while keeping their lottery pick.

One thing is certain: the Pacers are looking to be aggressive.

Generally where there is smoke there is fire and the recent links to OG Anunoby, Kyle Kuzma, Grant Williams, and Jonathan Kuminga indicate that the Pacers are scouring the league for what all of their options are going to be this offseason.
