The Indiana Pacers will be watching the playoffs while on vacation this year as the team once again failed to qualify for the postseason affair. In the upcoming season, the Pacers will be looking to stock up on draft picks again and develop young guys across the board.
If you are wanting an idea of who the Pacers might be drafting in the upcoming summer, we have covered the topic multiple times in the last couple of weeks. Those pieces can be found below:
- NBA Draft: A potential Pacers piece declared for the draft today
- NBA Mock Draft: The Pacers pick up the final piece for title contention
- NBA Mock Draft: Pacers make the next big superstar pairing
- Fan Poll: Indiana Pacers’ fans are hopeful for this power forward in the draft
However, the exact picks that the Pacers will have in the upcoming summer has yet to truly be decided. Because of multiple ties across the rankings (in both the Western and Eastern conferences), there will be a series of coin flips in the upcoming week that will determine multiple first and second round pick placements for the 2023 NBA draft.
One coin flip will determine whether the Pacers will be at the seventh or eighth spot in the pre-lottery draft odds. The other team in the coin flip will be the Washington Wizards. Another coin flip to keep an eye on is the Cleveland/Memphis coin flip that will determine the location of the Cleveland first-rounder that the Pacers have. The final coin flip that matters to Indiana is between the Spurs and Rockets. If the Spurs win the flip, the Pacers get to keep the extremely good Rockets second round pick. If not, they fall substantially in the second round.
We shall see if fortune is on the side of the Pacers when the coins fall.
