Some of the player ratings for the upcoming NBA 2K20 video game dropped last night, and the Indiana Pacers have no one in the Top 20.

Indiana Pacers fans will have to wait a little bit longer to find out where their favorite players rank in the upcoming NBA 2K20 video game. During a livestream event last night, the top players and rookies each had their player ratings for the game revealed, but no one on the Pacers’ roster was mentioned in either category.

On the one hand, this isn’t entirely shocking since all that was revealed was the Top 20 overall players in the league and the projected Top 5 rookies. The Indiana Pacers’ consensus best player, Victor Oladipo, is injured and missed 46 games last season (plus the entire post-season). He’ll miss a large chunk of games in 2019-2020 as well as he continues to recuperate, so how he’ll truly perform once he’s back and healthy is still a bit up in the air.

More from 8 Points, 9 Seconds

There are a couple guys near the end of the Top 20 that Oladipo may still have a case to be ranked above. Players like Donovan Mitchell (tied for #15 overall with an 88 rating) and Ben Simmons (#20 overall with an 87 rating) are a couple examples of players that Vic could leapfrog in the ranks once he’s healthy and back to himself. For now, these players are ready to roll when the season tips, so it’s at least a little understandable why they might currently be ranked above Oladipo.

Pacers’ rookie Goga Bitadze was highly touted by many going into the 2019 NBA Draft, but anyone going 18th overall is clearly going to have a tough time cracking the Top 5 in the NBA 2K20 rookie ratings with 17 other players ahead in the picking order (though Goga could prove to be more NBA-ready than some of his other draftmates with his decorated career in Europe already under his belt).

The only player in the Top 20 with a tie to the Indiana Pacers is former wing Paul George, who currently sits at #8 overall with a rating of 93. He’s sandwiched right between Anthony Davis and Damien Lillard, which is clearly very good company. Kawhi Leonard is tied with LeBron James for the best rating in the entire game, and he technically has a link to the Pacers, but we’ll spare you that heartbreak.

As per usual, the Indiana Pacers seem to be flying under the radar for now going into the new season and will have to let their play on the court do all the talking once the regular season tips off. Guys like Victor Oladipo, Malcolm Brogdon, Myles Turner, and Domantas Sabonis are the 4 most likely players to climb the ranks this season.

For now, we’ll have to make up our own ratings for the members of the Indiana Pacers’ roster until NBA 2K20 releases the remainder of their player ranks. Stay tuned for updates.
