Newest Indiana Pacers player Ben Moore lands a spot on Team USA
By Tony East
What a month for Ben Moore. After getting a contract for the Indiana Pacers this season, he will now be playing for Team USA for the basketball world cup qualifiers.
Can you imagine a scenario in which getting an NBA contract isn’t even the best thing that happens to you within a month? That is exactly what has happened for the Indiana Pacers newest player, Ben Moore.
Moore recently signed a partially guaranteed one-year deal with the Indiana Pacers, solidifying his role on a team for his second go around in the NBA. After spending all summer with no contract, getting a deal had to be a huge relief for the young swing forward.

But in the recent days, Moore received some even bigger news: he will be playing for the Team USA Basketball team. Team USA has some games coming up that are qualifiers for the FIBA Americas World Cup, and Moore will be a member of the team.
The official announcement came on Monday.
Moore only played in two games for the Indiana Pacers last season. He totaled nine minutes of playing time, in which he was able to snare a rebound and dish out an assist. He was productive in his minutes, there just wasn’t a ton of opportunities for him to play.
On team USA he will join a group of players around his talent level in representing their country. The squad will play against Panama on September 17th.
There is a familiar face for Moore on the team. Fellow Indiana Pacers summer league member Bryce Alford will also play for the Red White and Blue in the qualifying games.
What a September it has been for Ben Moore. Congratulations to him as he represents his country before joining the Pacers for training camp at the end of the month.
