If you think your true calling is the NBA, the Indiana Pacers G-League team, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, are holding tryouts in September.

Look, if you had one shot, one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted — one moment. Would you capture it or just let it slip?

If your moment is playing with the Indiana Pacers, your best shot is coming in the form of a tryout with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, their G-League affiliate. It can be like the upcoming NBA2k MyCareer mode, but most likely you aren’t working your way back to the NBA.

On September 29th, registration will begin at 9 a.m. and tryouts will begin promptly at 10 a.m. at the Plassman Athletic Center at Turnstone according to the Mad Ants’ website. If you register before the 26th, it will cost you $150. After that, $200.

Spectators are invited to attend tryouts at no cost.

Of course, once you take the floor your palms might be sweaty, knees weak, your arms heavy. You might vomit your mom’s spaghetti, but that would be a weird breakfast choice before the morning tryout. Guess you’re carb loading.

Would you be nervous, but on the surface look calm and ready? Would you drop bombs from beyond the 3-point arc, but you keep missing those shots you worked on. The crowd grows so loud. You put up arms up, but your shot won’t go down. You’re chokin’. How? Everybody is jokin’ now, the shot clock runs out, times up, over, blaow!

You’ll have to snap back to reality, oh there goes gravity, there you go, you choked. Are you going to be mad but you won’t give up that easy.

No. You won’t have it. You know all of Fort Wayne’s ropes, it doesn’t matter.

You’re dope, you know that, but you’re broke. You’re so stacked that when you go back to your mobile home (or another abode), that when it’s back to the lab again.

Better go capture this moment, don’t let it pass you.

You better lose yourself in the music, the moment, you own it, you better never let it go. This is your one shot, do not miss your chance to blow — this opportunity only comes once in a lifetime.

You can do anything you set your mind to, man and the Fort Wayne Mad Ants are giving you the chance to seize that. Don’t let it slip.
