Christmas time is here again and once again the Indiana Pacers are giving back to the community in a number of ways.

The holidays are here, and the Indiana Pacers are ready to continue giving back to communities

The Pacers are going from stuffing turkeys — the 20th annual “Come to our House” Thanksgiving Dinner — to stuffing stockings.

According to the Pacers press release, JACKKS Pacific is donating is donating toys through the Pacers to a number of communities through Indiana, and in other NBA cities still dealing with damage from the hurricane season.

"Berman, a close friend of PS&E Owner Herb Simon, and JAKKS Pacific, one of the leading U.S. toy companies, will be providing toys to more than 50 youth-serving non-profit organizations throughout Indiana. The donation is part of the annual Pacers and NBA Season of Giving initiative. In addition, this year’s donation includes toys for children in the hurricane-affected NBA cities of Houston, Miami and Orlando.Beginning Friday, the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever through their Pacers Cares and Fever Cares programs will tip off a state-wide distribution by joining local police departments in donation ceremonies in Fort Wayne, Columbus, Evansville, Greencastle, Connersville, Muncie and Kokomo. In Fort Wayne, the toy distribution will be in partnership with the Mad Ants, the Pacers’ NBA G League affiliate."

The fist of the donations is Friday at the Boys and Girls Club in Fort Wayne.

But if you’re looking for something more hands-on these Indiana Pacers, you’ll have to wait until Sunday when several players take part in the “Shop with the Pacers” event at Circle Centre Mall.

Al Jefferson, TJ Leaf, Victor Oladipo, Lance Stephenson, Joe Young and Cory Joseph are expected to take part as families from Bethany Christian Services and provide them with dinner and a holiday shopping spree, according to Indiana’s press release.

"Each child will receive a $200 Simon Malls Gift Card and in addition Finish Line will provide a special in-store discount. Papa John’s will provide complimentary meals for everyone in attendance and Kroger will provide dessert. Each family in attendance will also receive a $100 Kroger Gift Card and tickets to an Indiana Pacers home game."

There are plenty of cliches about giving back when it comes to large organizations like an NBA team, but it is nonetheless a good thing for the families that benefit from these events.
