The Fort Wayne Mad Ants are getting new jerseys for this fall’s Gatorade League, changing from maroon to Indiana Pacers blue.

The Fort Wayne Mad Ants are feeling blue, but that’s a good thing.

The G-League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers is switching out the maroon of their past for their parent club’s dark blue, finally matching them in their color scheme.

Along with the new look, the team will get new jerseys this fall which was likely coming thanks to Nike coming aboard as the NBA’s apparel provider.

The Mad Ants went 30-20 last season in the NBA Development League as the Pacers saw Rakeem Christmas, Joe Young, and Georges Niang spend time in Fort Wayne.

More from Pacers News

For Indiana Pacers fans, the highlight of the Mad Ants season was Tyler Hansbrough’s return to the organization. Psycho T humbly is trying to make his way back onto an NBA roster this season after averaging a double-double in Fort Wayne.

Last year, the Pacers bought the Mad Ants as the league moves closer to all 30 teams having a G-League affiliate.

No matter what color Hansbrough or any of the Mad Ants are wearing this season, for aesthetic purposes it is good to see Indiana and Fort Wayne with matching colors.

Brian Begley’s idea for the Indiana Pacers uniforms

We’re still waiting to see what Nike will unveil their uniforms for the Pacers, but we can at least enjoy Brian Begley’s ideas for them that he shared on Twitter.

I love the idea of bringing back the Flo-Jos, and the alternate black uniform looks pretty slick as well. The regular uniforms have a retro vibe if you ask me, but that’s not a bad thing.

Next: Corey Joseph is headed to the Pacers

Until we see what Nike has to offer, let’s hope they have some of the same creative flair as Begley.
