This NBA season isn’t even over, but Bovada already has odds out for the 2018 Finals with the Indiana Pacer at 100/1 at the moment.
The sun hasn’t even set on this season, but you can already start throwing money in for next year’s title. Bovada is offering 100/1 odds on the Indiana Pacers to win the 2018 NBA championship.
It is a bit of a drop from last year’s 60/1 odds.
The Pacers are one of 12 teams with 100/1 odds, along with the Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks
Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Portland Trail Blazers, and Utah Jazz. Indiana is in the main pack of NBA teams that are good, but not good enough to be a real threat to winning an NBA title in 2018.
Or at least that’s how popular those teams are. Don’t forget that the odds are set to get even action on both sides, not so much to be a perfect prediction of a team’s chances. That probably explains why the Knicks, Lakers, and 76ers are in the same group as several playoff teams.

The Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings have worse odds in the NBA with Sacramento leading(?) at 500/1.
Of the rest, the Memphis Grizzlies and Milwaukee Bucks come in at 75/1, with the Oklahoma City Thunder next at 66/1. The Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards are next with shared 50/1 odds, with the Los Angeles Clippers next at 33/1 followed by the Houston Rockets at 20/1.
Both conference finals runner-ups — the Boston Celtics and San Antonio Spurs — are at 12/1 while Cleveland sits at 3/1 odds and the Warriors are on top at 2/3.
The Indiana Pacers are a long shot, and rightly so. With all of the drama surrounding Paul George, it is hard to know if this team will remain a playoff team or start selling off assets for a rebuild.

The Warriors are the smart investment still, but some of the young and upcoming teams like the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks might be more fun to ride along with.
