Luke Kennard — Duke

It’s no secret the Pacers need shooting and a solid 2 guard to pair with Jeff Teague (assuming Jeff is still in a Pacers uniform next year).

More from 8 Points, 9 Seconds

Either way, Kennard fits with what Larry Bird is trying to build. Luke Kennard has the size and strength to produce at the next level.

With limited bounce and quickness, Kennard relies on an impressive old man type of game. He has an array of moves and a sweet jumper that proves to be almost unstoppable at times. When watching Duke play Kennard stands out. He is so smooth and uses his body to create space better than most at the college level.

Bird should absolutely look to Kennard in the late first as he fits the mold of an NBA 2 guard. Although his athleticism and limited wingspan is somewhat of a concern, he can play and be a very capable scorer in the league. Kennard projects as a scorer off the bench in the early stages of his career that could turn into a solid starter with 15-20 ppg potential.
