The Indiana Pacers returned from their weeklong All-Star break by drubbing the Philadelphia 76’ers 106-95. The score reports that it was an 11-point game, but in reality, this “contest” was not that close by the middle of the 2nd quarter. The Blue and Gold had their way with the Sixers, raining 3s and layups, and Luis Scola had a vintage game.
Then the Pacers did the seemingly impossible and knocked off the Golden State Warriors. Fan-friendly MVP candidate Stephen Curry sat our with an ankle injury, so the degree of difficulty wasn’t a full 10, but the Warriors are a force even without the best shooter alive on the court, so the fact that Indiana got the victory will be huge for their playoff chances — and confidence — throughout the final stretch of the season.
But before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s look backwards a way.
