As the Indiana Pacers continue to lose to bad teams, Larry Bird has to consider abandoning his wait-and-see approach. With Paul George out for the year, it was supposed to be a lost season. The Pacers are just trying to make the playoffs and keep things in tact for the return of PG-13.

But when you lose to the Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Minnesota Timberwolves in a nine-day stretch, you have to wonder if the players on the roster just aren’t good enough.

It may be time to make some moves.

Although trade rumors surrounded Roy Hibbert all offseason, and the Pacers were linked to Goran Dragic and Rajon Rondo earlier this year, nothing has materialized. But as bad as this season is going, Bird still appears to be more of a buyer than seller on the trade market. Even now, the team still wants to sneak in the back door of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

So as the February 19th NBA Trade deadline approaches, here are five potential Indiana Pacers trades that will help the team — this year and for the future.
