Myles Turner is the longest-tenured Pacers player on the roster. He has played for Indiana for a decade now. After being a first-round pick in 2015, his career has had a lot of ups and downs. Still, he showed why he's one of their most important players during the playoffs.

Turner's ability to make threes and convert midrange shots in the short roll is very important to how the Pacers operate on offense. Not only is he a good offensive player, but he protects the rim well. Even though He isn't quite as good of a rim-protector as he used to be, he's still effective.

Turner's future is something that the Pacers have to consider when figuring out their moves this offseason. Because he signed a two-year extension, he is not eligible for an extension this season. That means he becomes a free agent after the 2024-25 season.

The Pacers must figure out how Myles Turner figures into their plans

With his free agency looming, the moves Indiana makes this offseason will be affected by their plans at center. Will they decide to keep Turner a Pacer for life? Or will they decide to make a move for someone else at the center position in the near future?

Turner deserves to be taken care of. He's been through a lot in his time in Indiana. It would be really cool if he could stay a Pacer for life. More than that, I actually think he fits what the Pacers are trying to do on the court. Very few centers possess the skills he does.

Whatever moves they make this offseason could determine how they feel about Turner's future. Getting players who complement him would be the right now. If they get some guys who overlap with what Turner does on the court, perhaps that means he could be on his way out.

Turner is a great player. His game should age pretty well. The Pacers should want to keep him for as long as this title window is open.
