In June, Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton and rival Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks had a face-to-face confrontation on an episode of WWE's Friday Night Smackdown. Now, nearly three months later, the 24-year-old is making it clear he hopes to make it back again soon.

Haliburton took to X on Tuesday night to promote that night's episode of WWE NXT. In his post, Haliburton also said "I need to pull up" and make an appearance on next week's episode on the 17th. Additionally, the Wisconsin native tagged WWE legend Shawn Michaels, who currently oversees many of the creative aspects of NXT, in his post.

Shortly after Haliburton's tweet, Michaels responded, saying he would "love to have" the guard on the show, but he must "be careful in the parking lot."

Haliburton has been avid about being a professional wrestling fan, attending events in the past as well. It is not a surprise that he has interest in returning to make another appearance for the company.

Another appearance for the WWE could be great for Haliburton and even the Pacers organization as a whole.

Haliburton is already having a fantastic year with his individual success on the court (including winning a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics) and by leading the Pacers to their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since 2014. He is quickly becoming a household name and is bringing more eyes to the Pacers than anybody else has since at least Paul George.

It is not completely unusual for NBA players to make appearances in professional wrestling. In addition to Haliburton and Brunson, many of the game's greatest players, especially players like Shaquille O'Neal, Karl Malone, and Dennis Rodman, who all actually wrestled in the ring at some point, made an appearance in a major wrestling promotion.

Recently, Brunson mentioned the idea of having a WWE match against Haliburton in some capacity. While this is unlikely to happen any time soon since the NBA season is approaching, it is still a fun idea that could become a reality down the line.

Whether Haliburton makes an appearance on NXT next week remains unclear. However, regardless of whether it happens or not, it is a sign of something bigger for Haliburton and the Pacers as they aim to become legitimate title contenders in the NBA.
