Tyrese Haliburton and the Pacers receive love from unexpected supporter
This year, Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton constantly made headlines. Whether it was because of his career year, his Olympic run, or even his appearances on the Pat McAfee Show, the Pacers star has been everywhere. Perhaps most notably, however, he has made a few appearances on WWE programming.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Haliburton made a cameo on an episode of WWE NXT and even cut a promo that may have triggered a real-life NBA rivalry. Nonetheless, Haliburton has made it clear that he is a big wrestling fan and that there is a possibility of him making future appearances on WWE TV.
Now, Haliburton's WWE appearances seem to help more than just himself. As they prepare to begin training camp in just a few days, the Pacers now have an extra supporter on their side in large part due to the Wisconsin native and his WWE cameos.
WWE star Trick Williams reveals his support for the Indiana Pacers
In a recent interview with Ringer Wrestling Worldwide, WWE wrestler Trick Williams spoke about Haliburton's appearances in WWE. Williams said "It's really cool" for Haliburton, as well as New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson, who had a face-to-face with the Pacers guard on an episode of Friday Night Smackdown, to show their love and appreciation for the wrestling industry.
Furthermore, Williams said that he is going to support Haliburton and the Pacers this upcoming season because of the love they showed to him and the brand.
"Since my dawg Tyrese pulled up and showed love to NXT, I'm going with the Pacers all the way. We saw the stand off. Tyrese looks like he's ready for action and he stays healthy," Williams said.
Call it what you will, but Williams may have just jumped on the Pacers bandwagon at the right time.
The Pacers, who had an unlikely Eastern Conference Finals run just a few months ago, seem prepared to run it back and make an even deeper run. Though they made very few external moves, the Pacers are banking on natural progression to assert their dominance in the NBA. For the first time in a long time, there is genuine excitement in Indiana.
Indiana is less than a month away from the start of the regular season, where they will open the 2024-25 campaign on the road against the Detroit Pistons on October 23. The team will aim to make back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time since 2020, and hopefully for them, potentially make their first NBA Finals appearance since 2000.
