The Indiana Pacers are still in the heart of a playoff run this season. They now have a 3-1 series lead over the Milwaukee Bucks and are just one game away from the second round. What makes it more impressive is the fact that most of their guys have never been in the playoffs before.

Indiana is a very young team. Tyrese Haliburton is the face of the franchise and is either the best or the second-best player on the team. Regardless, the Pacers hope he will be with them for a while. He's part of the young and exciting young core that the NBA has.

Another player who is a part of that core is Victor Wembanyama. Wembanyama was the first overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and is the favorite for Rookie of the Year. He is the new face of the NBA because of his skill at his size. The NBA wants to market him as much as possible, both here and abroad.

The Indiana Pacers will take on the Spurs in France next season

Wembanyama is from France and is their pride and joy. The Pacers will have to take him on twice in his home country next season. The NBA announced that Indiana will take on the Spurs on January 23rd and 25th in France next season. It marks the first international trip for the Pacers since 2019 when they were in India for a preseason matchup with the Kings.

This is a cool opportunity for the Pacers but it will be a hard one. It won't be a normal neutral-site game. Everyone in the arena will be rooting for Wemby and the Spurs. The Pacers will essentially be playing a road game in a foreign country.

The Spurs are going to be better next year. They have cap space to help build around Wemby. But the Pacers should be better too. We still don't know where their journey is going to end this season either. This is something to look forward to when the regular season gets kind of boring next year.
