The Indiana Pacers have taken a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Milwaukee Bucks. They did so after pulling away late in Game 4, beating the Bucks 126-113. The three-point shooting is really was gave Indiana the firepower they needed in order to win the game.
Myles Turner's three-point shooting was really impressive. He hit seven of them en route to a game-high 29 points. It's a new playoff career-high for him as well. His offensive display was extremely impressive and it was what the Pacers needed. He was a big story in this one.
The other large story happened early in the first quarter. Bobby Portis, who has talked smack in this series, got himself thrown out after pushing Andrew Nembhard following a rebound. He got thrown out after just seven minutes. That was huge because the Bucks were without both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.
The Pacers survive a rag-tag effort from the Bucks and now have a commanding lead
After Portis got ejected, it took away another scorer from Milwaukee. They simply didn't have enough firepower to keep up with the Pacers. Indiana shot 51% from three and made 22 of them. When that happens, not a lot of teams are going to be able to keep up with them, healthy or not.
Things certainly got a little hairy for the Pacers. Their defense needs to get cleaned up as they missed several defensive rotations. That allowed the Bucks to get too many easy looks. Quite frankly, that was the only way that they scored. When the Pacers stuck with them, they couldn't find enough offense to win.
Now, this series heads to Milwaukee with Indiana holding a massive 3-1 lead. We still don't know if Giannis is going to play at all in this series. Dame might miss the next game too. The Pacers have a big chance to close out this series quickly and get some rest before the second round.
It was a big win for this young team. They just have one more to go to advance.
