Bleacher Report already has a couple of insane Pacers trades

The Indiana Pacers have ended their season. Now they have some tough decisions to make this offseason. Bleacher Report already has some ridiculous trade ideas for them.

The Indiana Pacers won't be playing in the NBA Finals after getting swept in the Eastern Conference Finals by the Boston Celtics. Now that the season is over, they have some hard decisions to make. They need to improve the team so they can make that final leap.

There will certainly be some trade ideas floating around this offseason. While the season has just been over for a couple of days, that hasn't stopped Bleacher Report from throwing out a couple of trades that seem a bit far-fetched, although one is much better than the other.

The first one has the Pacers trading Myles Turner, T.J. McConnell, and the 36th overall pick for Brandon Ingram. When you pause and think about it, it makes sense for a second because Indiana gets rid of two older players for a younger player with higher potential.

Unfortunately, more problems arise when you look at what it does to the Pacers' depth for the next couple of years. Do you really want Isaiah Jackson to take over the starting center position? He doesn't space the floor and is still a walking foul. Jalen Smith is too weak too do it and might opt out of his contract this year anyway.

Turner is a valuable member of the locker room and had his best season as a pro. While his defense is slipping a bit, he's still a pretty good shot-blocker. McConnell probably has one more elite year left, but he was phenomenal off the bench. Trading him now while his stock is high might not be a bad bad idea, just not in this package.

Other Bleacher Report trade makes more sense for the Pacers

The second trade that Bleacher Report has is for the Pacers to part ways with Jackson and Jarace Walker in order to get Alex Caruso from the Bulls. This trade would make more sense for a myriad of reasons, but I'm still not sure it's something the Pacers would do.

Caruso is an elite defender as a guard, something the Pacers desperately need. He harasses defenders up and down the court and can switch 1-4 without too many problems. Caruso also makes just under $9.9 million next season so that cap hit isn't so bad.

The issue is his age and durability. Caruso turns 30 next season and he misses a ton of games. He did just play a career-high in games, appearing in 71 of them. But how realistic is that to ask him to do it again at the age of 30? Is he likely to shoot almost 41% from three again? Perhaps.

The inclusion of Walker is what gives me so much pause. Despite not getting to see him a ton as a rookie, his potential is enormous. He gives the Pacers exactly what they need as a wing. He gives them length, solid defense, and the ability to shoot it from deep. Walker just needs minutes.

I wouldn't hate it if the Pacers did make this move, but I think I'm slightly against it. Making the move would probably require trading McConnell elsewhere to allow Nembhard to run the second unit as well. Caruso would have to start alongside Tyrese Haliburton to give the defense a chance.

I'll be coming up with plenty of other realistic trades throughout the offseason. Who knows, maybe one will actually be made.
