Myles Turner talks about his love for the Pacers and how good this team is
By Ryan Stano
The Indiana Pacers are playing in the Eastern Conference Finals. They get to take on the Boston Celtics for the right to play for an NBA title. It has been a long and hard road to get here, but the Pacers are one of the final four teams left standing this season.
Myles Turner is the longest-tenured Pacers player. He has seen a lot in his decade with the team. He saw the end of the Paul George era, which was the last time this team made the East Finals. That was the last time this team was truly an NBA title contender.
Turner has been through a lot in his NBA career. For about five straight years, his name was in trade rumors. It seemed like he was going to leave Indiana. Yet, he's still here and has a lot to be thankful for. He talked about that and a lot of other things in a recent podcast with Michael Scotto.

Talking about Tyrese Haliburton specifically, he had this to say about his point guard.
""He’s definitely helped transcend my career, to say the least. I think the biggest thing with Tyrese is that he wants to pass more than he wants to score. When you think of a point guard, you’d think that would be the epitome of that, but in a league where scoring is paramount, it’s a rarity when you have guys like Tyrese who embrace that role of coming in and being a creator but can also step up when you need him. I think the sky’s the limit for him. The past two or three years since he’s been here, his ascension has been incredible. He’s been able to really help a franchise that was at its lowest and take it to new heights.""

Turner's right about Haliburton helping his career, especially this season. In the postseason, Turner has been incredible, especially shooting the three. He's shooting almost 46% from beyond the arc so far against the Bucks and the Knicks. He's going to need to do that again against the Celtics.
Pascal Siakam has been a big addition to the Pacers as well. Turner had this to say about how he and Siakam work well together.
""I think Pascal came here and changed not only our outlook right away but the way we approach the game. He’s someone who has championship experience. He came in right away and was able to be a voice. He was never really shy about speaking up on how he thought about things we should be doing or how we should move. He’s helped us tremendously on the offensive end and being able to have his defensive versatility...He’s someone who’s also going to help my game. He commands so much attention that I’m able to get loose for my threes.""

The Pacers are a better team with Turner as their center. That's one of the reasons why their offense is so efficient. His ability to stretch the floor makes this team extremely dangerous. Boston is not going to have an easy time beating this Pacers team.
