After exceeding expectations in Indianapolis, last year's Eastern Conference runner-up is poised for another successful season in the NBA. While some records will never be broken, some are within reach.

The Indiana Pacers franchise is filled with history. Fans have seen the team excel ever since its days in the now-defunct ABA. Recent success gives the opportunity for certain Pacers players (and the coach),

Here is a look at potential Pacers records that could be broken this season. Some of these on the list are records held as a team that could be surpassed in the Pacers' next season.

1. Most triple-doubles in a season and/or off the bench

This category mainly pertains to both point guards on the Pacers' roster as Tyrese Haliburton and T.J. McConnell are in the running.

McConnell has three of these in his career; his first was with the Philadelphia 76ers. He registered this feat again in his second season with Indiana and one more time two seasons ago.

While the most triple-doubles for any Pacers tenure is 18 by Domantas Sabonis, Haliburton could leapfrog the second closest held by Detlef Schrempf who collected six in his career with the Pacers.

The dependable and crafty veteran solidified his role in the rotation playing second string to Haliburton. Across the league, the most triple doubles off the bench is four by Russell Westbrook.

During the March 3rd game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, McConnell reached double-digits in points, assists, and steals. Nine of those steals came in the first half alone. Thus, it's not hard to imagine McConnell doing it more than once this upcoming season.

Furthermore, Haliburton is tied with three former Pacers players for most triple-doubles in the playoffs with one. Mark Jackson had the first as Paul George and Victor Oladipo would also make history. If Haliburton were to tally one more, the All-Star point guard holds sole possession of the new record.
