Pacers vs. Pistons injury report Jan. 17: Cade Cunningham, Pascal Siakam, and more

The Indiana Pacers defeated the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night to secure their fourth win in the last five games. They will head on the road to take on the No. 1 seed Detroit Pistons, who are 4-2 in 2026, on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Saturday's game will mark the third of four matchups between the two teams this season. Detroit came out in top in each of the first two games.

  • T.J. McConnell (knee, elbow) - OUT
  • Andrew Nembhard (back) - OUT
  • Aaron Nesmith (rest) - OUT
  • Taelon Peter (G League) - PROBABLE
  • Pascal Siakam (rest) - OUT
  • Ethan Thompson (G League) - PROBABLE
  • Obi Toppin (foot) - OUT

Isaiah Jackson, who has been out of action since Dec. 22 after suffering a concussion, has been upgraded to questionable against Detroit.

The Pacers have ruled T.J. McConnell out for injury management on his left knee and elbow.

Andrew Nembhard has also been ruled out for injury management on his lower back. The Canadian native has averaged 18.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 8.9 assists, and 1 steal since the turn of the calendar.

Indiana has ruled Aaron Nesmith and Pascal Siakam out for rest purposes. Nesmith has played in every game since returning from his knee injury on Dec. 27, whereas Siakam has played in all but one game for the Pacers so far this season.

Cade Cunningham made his return against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday after missing two games due to a right wrist contusion. The Texas native is listed as probable against the Pacers. Through 34 games this season, Cunningham has averaged 26.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 1.5 steals.

Paul Reed missed Detroit's victory against the Suns for personal reasons, but he is listed as probable to return on Saturday.

The Pistons have listed Ausar Thompson as probable to play against Indiana despite him dealing with a right heel contusion. Thompson has missed just four games this season.
