And there it is, ladies and gentlemen! The Indiana Pacers preseason is over!

Following an overtime loss against Memphis and a blowout loss against Houston, Indiana bounced back and won their third preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks.

And on Friday night, they made it two victories in a row, beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 109-104 in a very exciting preseason showdown. This was the final preseason game for both teams, as Cleveland finished their preseason 0-3, losing against Atlanta, Orlando, and now Indiana.

Indiana however, finished their preseason 2-2, stringing together a couple of close wins after the Houston clobbering, and seeing productive nights from almost every player in the rotation.

The Cleveland game was no exception to this, as plenty of performances stood out, leading to Indiana’s win. Despite a valiant effort from Cleveland, including 28 points from Donovan Mitchell and 18 points and eight rebounds from Evan Mobley, the Pacers barely pulled away in the fourth quarter to snatch away the win and end the preseason on a high note, something that is sure to help them once their regular season tips off on Wednesday.

There were plenty of things to take away from this preseason, including some key things that were noticed in the recent Indiana win over Cleveland.

Three things stood out as key points, and the Pacers should look to keep these things going if they want to fulfill the expectations of fans as a sleeper team in the east, with some expecting them to snag the sixth seed and skip the Play-In Tournament altogether en route to their first playoff appearance since 2020.

So without further ado, let’s get the three takeaways from the Pacers’ preseason victory against Cleveland.
