The Pacers have had an evolving roster over the last couple of years and because of that they have had to let go of some players that they may have preferred to keep if they could have found the space. However, with an influx of draft capital, the team has had to make some difficult decisions in the last couple of years. However, it is always good to see a former player able to land on their feet in a new situation.
One of the recent departures that many fans would have liked to see continue was the presence of Terry Taylor for the Pacers, who frequently showed himself to be a rebounding specialist. This week it was announced that Terry Taylor has signed with the Chicago Bulls, showing that Taylor continues to prove to NBA franchises that he has a unique set of skills for the NBA game.
And while the details of the deal haven’t been reported as of yet, we can all feel fairly comfortable in saying that the contract is likely a bit modest compared to many in the NBA. However, it is still good to see Taylor able to carve a role for himself.
Taylor is just one of a series of players that the Pacers have had to underutilize during their time in Indiana.
The other big departure of a player that was underutilized this offseason was Oshae Brissett, who many thought would be able to work his way into the starting rotation if he improved enough. However, Oshae was never able to really carve out a spot in the rotation.
Terry Taylor on the other hand, spent a lot of time even playing with the starters when injuries hit the Pacers hard. And while you won’t find us cheering for the bulls anytime soon, you can expect us to hope for former Pacers to have success in their new and current endeavors on the court.
