If you are a diehard Pacers fan, it turns out your offseason is over a bit earlier than normal. This week the Pacers, at least one of them, will be back in high-level basketball action again.

This week we got our first views of Tyrese Haliburton in his team USA jersey, and it looks like it suits him quite well. Ty had on a different blue uniform and one that is giving him the opportunity to represent his country on the basketball court.

What we don’t know at the moment is how much Tyrese will be on the court for the men’s national team, but given the look of the roster, it likely will be significant amounts of playing time. Pacers fans should be flocking to watch their young superstar play for the national team given these opportunities don’t come around often for Indiana.

Ty’s main competition for minutes in the backcourt are Anthony Edwards and Jalen Brunson, with Brunson probably the most likely to start at the moment. But even if he isn’t starting, Haliburton is almost certain to see significant time on the court.

This is the next progression for Tyrese as he heads towards superstardom in the association.

This will benefit the Pacers in so many ways. Getting global views for a player on the Pacers team is certain to help the visibility and likeability of Indy in the national media. Additionally, this will give Haliburton the opportunity to inform other rising stars in the league of what the Pacers are building and how they could be a part of it.

While FIBA isn’t always the most compelling basketball for most fans, it is important that we show out in droves to get eyeballs onto Haliburton and the national team. If we want more games covered by the national media, it has to start with Indiana fans showing up when they have the opportunity to.

Best of luck Ty with USMNT!
