I was looking through the Pacers news this week, getting ready for the upcoming NBA draft. I have to say that it’s nice to have options in Indiana heading into the draft. The Pacers seem to be trending in the right direction at the moment. I have always appreciated the overall stability of the front office. I think people forget how hard it is to win in a small market like Indiana where it’s hard to attract free agents. The front office is not perfect, but if you look at all the moves from the past few years, they have been hitting more than missing with player personnel. I’m looking forward to seeing what the Pacers do… Do they package for an established player or roll the dice with the 7th pick? Only time will tell, but I trust the front office is looking to build off of last season and continue to build a team that will make fans proud.
All of that being said, I noticed the following tweet from Tyrese Haliburton, the frontrunner for the Pacers.
Haliburton hates the nickname that most of us use most often
Did you read that Pacers fans? It may seem like a small statement made by the point guard, but I think we would all be wise to listen to Tyrese Haliburton about this nickname situation. It’s going to be a busy week for the Pacers, and I know fans are going to be on social media speculating about what the next moves are going to be from the front office with the NBA draft. Why don’t we listen to Tyrese Haliburton about his nickname and avoid using Hali moving forward? Probably a wise move. Let’s continue to be a knowledgeable fan base who cares about the state of Indiana, the Pacers, and the players who call the Hoosier State home.
Now… let’s get ready for the draft and see who will be added to the mix at Gainbridge Fieldhouse next season.
