While James may be an excellent prospect, it is probably best for Pacers to avoid picking him in the 2024 draft

I’m not saying anything about Bronny’s talent. He may certainly have the talent to be a top-ten pick in the 2024 draft. However, there are many negatives that outweight the positives, the biggest of which is the circus that may come alongside drafting a player in the spotlight as much as Bronny. Making the choice to bring that whole media frenzy to Indiana may be something that would derail the entire rebuilding process so far. And set the Pacers back years.

A good case study to remember is Lonzo Ball, who was also accompanied by a media circus when he was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers. While Ball was a promising prospect, and one that is still valuable rotationally today, the constant off-the-court drama that occompanied him off the floor with his family completely derailed his time in LA. Our fear in drafting Bronny, is that the same thing would happen again in Indy.

So our opinion? The Pacers should take a pass on drafting Bronny James.
