The Pacers build draft capital after extension talks fail
The Pacers clearly are in the business of extending Myles Turner as of today, but if talks fail, they will need to quickly pivot. If the Knicks are interested, this may be the kind of deal the Pacers could acquire.
There are reports that the Knicks want to move off of Derrick Rose, and this would give them the opportunity to do so as a salary match for Myles Turner. The Knicks have excessive first-round picks and appear to be in more of a win-now mode. Sending two of their four 2023 first-round picks to the Pacers may be worth it to bring in a defensive specialist like Myles Turner to play alongside Brunson and company. The question is whether or not the Pacers are looking to continue to stash their draft capital.
