Two Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers trades that would benefit both teams
By Joe Lyon
A young player with a high ceiling
Another player the Pacers could go for would be Saddiq Bey who is playing in his third year. Saddiq is a good player at everything, and a master at none. He would fit seamlessly into a young run and gun squad and would be able to very effectively defend the power forwards the Pacers typically struggle with. The following trade may get it done:
In James Johnson the Pistons would get a contract that would come off the books immediately following the season and would open up flexibility in future years. The Pacers would likely have to send back a better first round pick than for Bojan given the upside of Saddiq Bey and the team-friendly contract he is on. Additionally, the Pacers would send over a second round pick as icing on the cake.
In return, the Pacers would get a player that is still developing, fits the Pacers timeline, and would be able to fit into a desperate position of need.
