Fit with the Pacers

At 7’0, 210 pounds, Ware will have the chance to grow into his frame in the NBA with the help of elite dietician and weightlifting programs as well, and considering weight is one of the easier things to improve at the NBA level, many teams would consider themselves to have a found a tantalizing project to work with if they were to select Ware.

If drafted to Indiana in the 2023 NBA Draft, Ware would be slotted in as more of a project player considering how young he is (19 years old at start of 23-24 season) and his limited role with Oregon as a freshman. Ware would likely start on G-league assignment for awhile before being given a chance to compete with Isaiah Jackson for minutes behind starter Myles Turner.  Long-term, Ware could become an eventual starter to pair with Turner( if the Pacers decide to stick with him for awhile) and unleash a twin towers similar to that of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen of the Cleveland Cavaliers. A long-term starting 5 of Haliburton, Mathurin, Nesmith, Ware, and Turner could end up being a solid group for the East to try and deal with.

However, Ware is still very raw, and most likely will be a backup for his first few years in the league, as his physical tools make him capable of becoming an impact player in the league, but it all depends on how well he is developed .

The 2023 NBA Draft is set to kick-off June 22, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Who do you want the Indiana Pacers to take in this year’s draft?
