Addressing the free agency of TJ Warren will be a point of emphasis for the Indiana Pacers in the offseason. After the talented forward missed the last two years due to injury, what has been a virtual lock in the franchise’s core before has now been relegated to a rather expendable piece.

Given how the Pacers have traversed personnel and direction-wise in the recently concluded campaign, it may not be in their best interests to retain Warren, which in itself is a risky proposition. Still, the versatile scorer should remain a highly-pursued commodity, since he could be a good gamble for teams in need of a scoring punch.

Here are three clubs in particular that make the most sense for TJ Warren in free agency.

1. Irony? The Indiana Pacers still make sense for TJ Warren

There is still a lot to like about TJ Warren remaining with the Indiana Pacers. His injury record is a doomsday, but both parties seem to still have a substantial interest to brew a new deal.

The Pacers need length and a scoring dimension to their frontcourt, two things that Warren brings to the table. He’s still an uber-efficient scorer who thrives even in isolation opportunities. His defense, last seen two seasons ago, is a viable weapon against great scorers. It remains to be seen how a long layoff could affect his game, but coming off an injury, an expensive contract should be out of the woods, one incentive to pursue a reunion.

This is not gonna be a popular decision at all, but at the right price and given the right circumstances, the Pacers shouldn’t rule out Warren returning just yet.
