The Indiana Pacers were one of the primary victims of this peculiar season. Already injury-prone to begin with, the condensed campaign made them limp even more towards the finish line, cultivating in a lottery finish.

However, if fans want a piece of consolation, then they can look at the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite a great start in their title defense this season, the defending champs found themselves similarly mired with injuries. Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis failed to round into form, eventually resulting in the team getting bounced early in the first round by the upstart Phoenix Suns.

Of course, the Pacers and the Lakers are worlds apart talent-wise, but it proves that this season made the trek even harder for teams already dealing with personnel miscues and injuries. Thus, both parties can only look forward to next season and put this one away quickly.

Change is almost complicit with Indiana this offseason. Of course, creeping into the free agent market for some under-the-radar buys will be the obvious avenue to make some roster tweaks. And with the Lakers also in the gutters of modifying their squad, here are three players to pry away from the Purple and Gold.
