Indiana Pacers free agent target: Torrey Craig, Phoenix Suns

I don’t wanna sound like a broken record as I’ve already mentioned him previously, but Torrey Craig may be the crown jewel in the under-the-radar realm of free agents this offseason. The 30-year-old has made some waves for the Phoenix Suns off the bench in this campaign, proving why he’s probably the league’s most overlooked 3-and-D weapon.

The 6’7 tweener is a PJ Tucker-type of player who is not afraid to tackle on the opposition’s best player. Even in his spot minutes, he manages to immediately alter the feel of the game with his disruptive and physical brand of defense. Even more, he’s relentless on the boards and effective as a spot-up shooter, registering a 37 percent clip on triples.

The Indiana Pacers should not hesitate to hand him an offer higher than his meager 1.7 million salary this season at the earliest opportunity. His skillset is highly-coveted in the league, especially among role players. Donning the Blue and Gold, he can surely help bring a defensive identity that simply went missing in the recently concluded campaign.
