The NBA trade deadline is coming up and the Indiana Pacers will have some options if they wish to be buyers. With so many questions looming about the current roster, many expect the Pacers to sell some assets and move on towards the future.

If they decide to add more pieces and try to contend this year, they could still do so and still look at the future as more of a “bigger picture” of sorts. This year’s trade deadline may not be filled with blockbusters but it has the potential for a lot of impactful moves.

Who could the Indiana Pacers acquire at the deadline?

One of the targets that should intrigue Pacers fans is Hawks wing Cam Reddish. Reddish is in the midst of his second season in the NBA but is currently sidelined with an Achilles injury that may force him off the court for the remainder of the season.

The tenth overall pick in 2019, Reddish has all the tools the Pacers are looking for on their wing but has struggled with his three-point shot this season. He was also a lottery pick just two years ago, so the price to get him will not be cheap even though he is on the trading block.

Indiana needs someone with size that can defend on the wing and contribute from the perimeter but defense is the number one priority. Reddish, depending on the price, would be a massive get for Indiana.

They could also target someone like Troy Brown Jr. who has reportedly been made available by the Washington Wizards. Brown, like Reddish, is a young wing who can still provide a lot of help on the defensive end. He is not getting any run this season after being a piece of the rotation just a year ago and a fresh start would be good for the former first-round pick.

Now, if Indiana really wants to make a splash, they can enter the sweepstakes for Aaron Gordon as he heads out of Orlando. Gordon has been rumored to be on the move for what seems like a decade, which is very similar to the Myles Turner situation.

I don’t necessarily love the fit of Gordon with a player like Sabonis because it would be a lot of size with no real interior defense but Gordon is an exciting player that has a lot to offer on the offensive end of the floor. He will not be a big-time scorer but he is averaging 14.7 points and 4.2 assists this season.

If Gordon wants out of Orlando and a chance to at least compete in the playoffs, Indiana is an option that might work out. He will not raise the ceiling much though, considering what the Pacers would likely have to give up.
