3 reasons why Pacers will benefit from bringing last year’s team back

Pritchard Can See What This Indiana Pacers Team Needs Moving Forward
Last year’s mixture of young talent and wily vets was fun and it worked, but it will only work for so long. As Oladipo grows closer to 30 (he still has four years) and Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis grow, they will start to become the veterans with younger talent beneath them.
In a five-year outlook of this team, few players at most will remain from the present day group.
This season will be a good opportunity for Pritchard and his fellow executives to carefully watch the team and see what works and who performs. For example, is Collison the perfect fit next to Oladipo? If not, who would be and how can they get him? What about Bogdanovic and Young?
For a team to win a championship, it needs players with skillsets that can mesh with each other. Last season, skillsets came together fine but there was room for improvement.
Pritchard is smart, patient, and methodical. He put himself and this team in this position for a reason. More moves will be made in the future, but at this point, it’s all about the planning and being patient. They did a great job of that this summer.
