Thaddeus Young fended off a raccoon from his home today, and thankfully his wife Shekinah was there to record the Pacers power forward’s battle with the furry creature.

The summers are long in the NBA even when free agency is underway. Thankfully for Indiana Pacers fans, Thaddeus Young provided us with some entertainment on Sunday.

His wife Shekinah was recording as Young worked to take on one of his toughest opponents to date: A raccoon is his trash can.

Thad didn’t want to take his chances with the raccoon, using his 7’1 wingspan to create space between him and the woodland creature. With raccoons accounting for nearly 30 percent of rabies cases in the US, you can’t blame him for using caution while dealing with the cute but possibly rabid creature.

Young wisely tipped over the trash in an effort to get the trash panda away from his house, but the raccoon looked for more cover before making its way into the lawn and assumedly, out of sight.

“Look what daddy did to this poor raccoon,” Shekinah commented before Thad defended himself saying, “I didn’t do nothing.”

If a home is a castle, Thad was forced to defend his today and did so successfully.

This, of course, led to some photoshops by fans.

Let’s see what some of the other Pacers (some former) are up to this summer…

Myles Turner doing more yoga

Myles Turner is putting in plenty of physical work this summer — we have photographic evidence — but he’s also doing plenty of yoga as he gets his body right for the upcoming season.

T.J. Leaf is doing some more fishing

This might be the only thing he does other than play basketball.

It appears the former Pacers swingman Lance Stephenson is doing just fine. There’s still some hope the Pacers bring him back on a different contract, but for now, Lance’s biggest fans are worried that the signing of Doug McDermott signals the end of the Lance era.

Next: The Paul George Trade, One year later

While the summer is dragging on, thankfully soon we’ll get to see the Pacers Summer League squad take the floor in Las Vegas.
