Domantas Sabonis grabbed another double-double, but this time it came in the Rising Stars game at All-Star Weekend.

While Domantas Sabonis averages a double-double when he starts for the Indiana Pacers, the Lithuanian registered one for Team World in the Mtn Dew Kickstart Rising Stars game on Friday. Team World beat Team USA, 155-124.

Sabonis scored his 13 points on a perfect 6 of 6 shooting from the field, including a 3-pointer. He missed out on a perfect shooting night as he missed his one free throw attempt. But at least his game-high 11 rebounds earned him a double-double in 18 minutes of play. He also had three assists.

It was an improvement on his 10 points and one rebound in the game a year ago and is another reminder of his growth as a player in the last 365 days.

His perfect shooting night harkened back to the start of the season when Sabonis had three perfect shooting nights in Indiana’s first six games.

Buddy Hield and Bogdan Bogdanovic did the heavy lifting for Team World with 29 and 26 points, respectively. Jaylen Brown’s 33 points led Team USA.

Myles Turner and Victor Oladipo were on hand to cheer for the 21-year-old, and somehow Oladipo got himself a replica of Sabonis’ Team World jersey.

When asked if he knew how Oladipo got it, Sabonis was just as in the dark as anyone else.

“I have no idea. I don’t know how he got that because I only got one jersey. I guess he has connections,” Sabonis said laughing.

Most of the NBA is likely still sleeping on the young center as his game is much more cerebral than it is flashy. His basketball IQ is years above his experience, meaning his game is only going to continue to refine itself.

Soon enough, he might grab double-doubles regularly, even when he comes off the bench.
