5. Glenn Robinson III continues to impress

Once again Glenn Robinson III looked really good when he got his chances. At this point he looks much more impressive than his small forward counterpart Solomon Hill. He scored 13 points and had 5 rebounds in route to helping lead the Pacers fourth quarter unit to a comeback victory.

His athleticism is off of the charts and maybe the most impressive thing about him has been his aggressiveness in attacking the rim.  The major knock on him coming out of Michigan University was his inability to assert himself at times. Right now it does not appear to be an issue. He got to the free throw line six times and continually attacked the rim and also showcased a decent outside touch.

He was also sound defensively and is giving his case on why he deserves a spot on this team. He even right now is showing that he may deserve some minutes in the rotation. After Solomon Hill’s struggles in summer league and unimpressive showings thus far in preseason, there could very well be an opportunity waiting for Robinson.  If he continues to perform like he has it will be hard not to give him a shot.

Conclusion

Overall it was an impressive performance by the blue and gold. Especially after the uncertainty the past few days, it was a huge positive that people were able to see Paul George thrive. Things appear to coming together slowly but surely and there are some things to work out for sure- but ultimately the Pacers are playing an exciting brand of basketball.

If the rookie continue to progress and the Pacers can get some front court production this team will be in the playoff picture. Monta Ellis and George Hill still need to develop some continuity and chemistry and Paul George is the ultimate make or break key. If he is happy and continues to excel at the 4 then this season could be revelation of success.
