Earlier this month, Netflix released a 10-part docuseries titled "Starting 5." In the docuseries, five of the NBA's best players were filmed for the entirety of the 2023-24 season, and fans were treated to an amazing look at the lives of LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, Anthony Edwards, Jimmy Butler, and former Indiana Pacers big man, Domantas Sabonis.

Though the docuseries was primarily basketball-related, fans were treated to other special moments as well, such as James and his family's love for Halloween, Butler's passion for coffee, and the birth of Edwards' daughter. The inaugural season was such a hit that, according to ESPN's Shams Charania, there will be a second season, and Pacers fans may have to tap into this one.

Per Charania, the second season of "Starting 5" will feature James Harden, Kevin Durant, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jaylen Brown, and Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton. There may be some mixed opinions on Haliburton's inclusion, especially given how the Pacers have fared to begin the 2024-25 season, but there are plenty of reasons for fans to be excited about the newest development.

3 Reasons Pacers fans should be excited about Haliburton being a part of 'Starting 5'

Season 1 did not treat the Pacers kindly

If you were a Pacers fan who did not enjoy the first season of the docuseries, it is hard to blame you. While the first season was not necessarily anti-Pacers, it was still a tough watch for the fans.

Most notably, Sabonis, who the Pacers traded to the Sacramento Kings in 2022, was part of the first season. While the Pacers have made out better in the trade given that this is how they acquired Haliburton, they missed out on the chance to feature in the documentary because of the deal. For a team in a small market like Indiana, this would have done great things for their notoriety.

Additionally, it is hard to forget about James' Los Angeles Lakers defeating the Pacers in the final round of the then In-Season Tournament, as well as Tatum's Boston Celtics defeating the Pacers in a four-game sweep during the Eastern Conference Finals.

The first season of "Starting 5" did not paint the Pacers in a great light. With Haliburton now set to appear in the second season, this should change things for the better for Indiana.

Gives fans a behind-the-scenes look into Haliburton and the Pacers

The biggest selling point of a docuseries like this is that it gives all NBA fans a unique look in the lives of their favorite players. It also allows them to pull back the curtain a little bit and get a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes and everyday lives of these players. For Pacers fans, they now have this opportunity.

Haliburton is a very charismatic person on top of being the face of the Pacers' franchise. For entertainment purposes, he is a great subject for this docuseries. Additionally, for Pacers fans, they will have an even better understanding of the Wisconsin native and what drives him beyond the court.

The Pacers' 2024-25 campaign is already looking like an interesting one to follow

As it stands, the Pacers do not look like a good team in the NBA. They have begun the current season with a 1-3 record and have not found their rhythm yet. Though there is cause for concern, it is too early to panic. Additionally, it is easy to forget how talented this team is and how good they were with essentially the same roster last season.

There are still 78 games remaining for the Pacers to turn things around. When they do, they will remind everybody why they were just four wins away from an NBA Finals appearance last season. Barring unforeseeable circumstances, Indiana should make another postseason appearance next year.

Given how much adversity they are already going through, the Pacers' campaign should be one of the more intriguing ones to feature in the second season of "Starting 5."
