On Sunday, the Indiana Pacers defeated the Denver Nuggets in a game that may have solidified that the tides have officially turned for the team. The Pacers dealt with a slow start to the season, but they still find themselves near the top of the Eastern Conference heading into the playoffs. They currently own the No. 4 seed in the East and are in prime position to secure homecourt advantage for the first time since 2020.
Regardless of their overall success this season (especially since the turn of the calendar), the Pacers are not getting their love from the national media. They are constantly overlooked as title contenders despite their conference finals appearance. Still, the Pacers rightfully still have high belief in themselves, and Myles Turner's latest comments prove that.
Myles Turner knows the Pacers are one of the best teams in the league
After the Pacers' victory against the Nuggets, Turner spoke about the team's performance. With this win, the Pacers extended their winning streak to four games and moved to 31-13 since the start of 2025. The Pacers have established themselves as a top team in the league, and Turner is well aware of that, simply saying, "we're hard to beat" when they are clicking.
"We're a band of brothers right now...When we're firing on all cylinders, we're hard to beat," Turner said.
The Pacers are one of the most unique teams heading into the playoffs. They only had one All-Star in Pascal Siakam, and they are likely a level or two below the top title contenders in the NBA. Still, they are a well-rounded team and run arguably the best offensive system in the league. Furthermore, they are among the most resilient and clutch teams in the NBA, and they play some of the best team basketball in the league today.
When the Pacers are completely on, like Turner says, they are hard to beat. They are going to be a tough playoff opponent for any team this year, and they are in a good spot to go on another deep playoff run.
Last year, the Pacers made their first conference finals appearance in a decade and gave the eventual champion Boston Celtics their toughest challenge of the postseason. Still, they are a better team this year and should be getting more respect than they have gotten.
With just a couple of weeks until the beginning of the playoffs, the Pacers will look to gain as much momentum as possible until then. However, once the playoffs come around, the Pacers will have an opportunity to prove that last year was no fluke and that they are here to stay.
