Through three preseason games, despite being 1-2, the Indiana Pacers have overall looked promising. Of course, as is the nature of preseason, the true stars during this time are rookies, new acquisitions, and players on the roster bubble. This has been true for the Pacers as well.

While there has been a lot of inconsistency on the Pacers this preseason in the sense of game-by-game performances, there is one constant that should make fans pretty happy.

The Pacers lead the league in FG% through three preseason games

Despite utilizing their typical starters three games into preseason much less often than during a regular season or playoff game, the Pacers are proving they are an incredibly efficient team once again. Last season, the Pacers shot 50.7% from the field in the regular season. Not only did this lead the league, but the Pacers were the only team to shoot above 50%.

Additionally, in another impressive feat in its own right, the Pacers shot 50.7% once again from the field during the playoffs. And once again, they were the only playoff team to shoot over 50%.

In the preseason so far, the Pacers are shooting 52.7% from the field. The Pacers are not just first in this area once again, but it is not entirely close. Right beneath them is the Brooklyn Nets, who are shooting 48.6% from the field in two games.

Furthermore, the Pacers are shooting 38.2% from beyond the arc. This is fourth-best behind the Golden State Warriors, Milwaukee Bucks, and Utah Jazz.

Of the Pacers' top-five most efficient shooters in preseason, only one of them (Pascal Siakam, who is shooting 64.3%) is a regular starter. Kendall Brown (100%), James Wiseman (86.7%), Quenton Jackson (80%), and Jarace Walker (60%) round out the top five.

Of the aforementioned players, only two are legitimately in contention for a rotation spot this year. However, given how fast-paced and offensive-centric the Pacers' system is, it is a welcoming sign that even players near the bottom of the roster are showing ways they could potentially make an impact on the court, even if it is against other backups or third-stringers.

Additionally, it is further confirmation that the Pacers have an elite offensive system in place, largely due to head coach Rick Carlisle.

Sure, players like Brown and Jackson are not going to bring a championship to Indiana, but seeing how efficient they are during their limited time on the court is a wonderful thing for the Pacers as they aim to prove to the NBA world they are legitimate title contenders.
