The new and improved Pacers are here and their win streak shows
A three-game winning streak and winning five of their last six, this Pacers team is unlike any of the recent few years. The 46-34 Pacers still sixth in the East have a momentum builder as they still have two remaining games, that will decide their placement in the NBA playoffs.
A 140-123 win against the Toronto Raptors was the cherry on top of the ice cream for a very impressive win streak that saw Tyrese Haliburton shoot the lights out on his 30-point night with an efficient 10-16 from the field and 3-8 from three. Off the bench, Obi Toppin was a human highlight reel with his 23 points and dunks that would win him a dunk contest, including some posters. Like usual Pascal Siakam, Myles Turner, and T.J. McConell were also efficient in the win with 16, 16, and 17 points respectively. Siakam also had nine rebounds and McConnell led the team with seven assists as Haliburton had five.
This win came after huge victories versus the Thunder and the Heat which saw some big performances by the offense and defense. A win today guarantees them a playoff spot, and with the way they have been playing, there is no reason to believe the Pacers will struggle in these last two matchups. Teams like the Knicks and Bucks have recently clinched postseason berths and now between the Magic, Cavaliers and Pacers battle for the four through six spots while the 76ers and Heat have some ground to make up.
After seasons of 25 and 35 wins, this season has proved to be a huge step in the right direction. With the average age of the roster being less than 27 and many players sent to enter their prime in the next few years, this team has yet to even scratch the surface of how good they can be.
The playoff momentum is here and all that the Pacers want to do is continue it and be able to secure their first title in their NBA tenure.
