The Indiana Pacers lost to another team with a losing record on Wednesday night. They have now lost to more sub-.500 teams than any other team currently in the playoff picture. The 115-111 loss was particularly tough because they let a rookie off the bench kill them.

Noah Clowney was great in this game for the Brooklyn Nets. He had 22 points and 10 rebounds in just 17 minutes off the bench. He killed the Pacers every time he was on the floor. Quite frankly, it was frustrating to watch considering how bad the Nets are as a team.

While the Pacers didn't have Myles Turner available for the game, this is still one they should have won. He's good, but he's not so good that this team should have lost to the Nets without him. Meanwhile, the rookie had something to say about the win afterward.

Rookie explains why he dominated the Indiana Pacers

Talking to the media after the game, Clowney explains why he was able to be so effective against the Pacers.

"I always say, 'They bleed the same blood, they put their shorts on just like I do'...Yeah, they're a good team, but I gotta play with the same confidence here that I do in the G-League."

As you can see, the rookie out of Alabama is not lacking in confidence. He basically told the NBA world that the Pacers aren't that scary to play. This is despite getting blown out by Indiana on Monday evening when they played in Indianapolis.

The thing is, he's right. The Pacers aren't that scary to play if you're a bad team. For whatever reason, this young team doesn't seem to take these kinds of games seriously. They get up for games against the better teams in the league but seem to let down against lottery teams.

That kind of mentality very well could put the Pacers in the play-in instead of the playoffs. Right now, they sit in the seventh position in the East. They have five games left. In order to secure that 6th spot, they need to go at least 4-1 down the stretch.
