Former Pacers guard retires after 10 seasons in the NBA
After 10 years in the NBA, it appears former Indiana Pacers guard Jeremy Lamb is calling it a career at 32 years old, according to a recent post on his Instagram account.
Lamb spent parts of three seasons with the Pacers from 2019 to 2022. In that time, he averaged 10 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. Additionally, he shot 42.8% from the field and 35.7% from beyond the arc.
With the Pacers, Lamb was a solid role player off the bench, though he enjoyed a pretty sizeable role during the 2019-20 season, averaging 28.1 minutes per game and starting all but four of them.
The Pacers moved on from Lamb in 2022 as part of the trade that landed them Tyrese Haliburton from the Sacramento Kings. Lamb finished the season with the Kings, but he has not appeared in a game since then.
Lamb was drafted by the Houston Rockets with the No. 12 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. However, he never played a game for them as he was shipped to the Oklahoma City Thunder before the 2012-13 season in the blockbuster deal for James Harden. The UConn alum also enjoyed a stint with the Charlotte Hornets from 2014 to 2019.
On his career, Lamb averaged 10.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists over 573 games.
Jeremy Lamb once dominated against the Denver Nuggets
Playing parts of three seasons in Indiana, Lamb had a lot of good games with the team. However, arguably his best performance came in an eight-point loss to the Denver Nuggets.
On January 2, 2020, Lamb scored 30 points on 9-for-13 shooting. This includes a perfect 5-for-5 from beyond the arc. Additionally, Lamb recorded six rebounds, two assists, and a steal in nearly 37 minutes of play.
Lamb was not just the Pacers' leading scorer that game, he led the entire game in points. This includes a better scoring output than Jamal Murray (22 points), Michael Porter Jr. (25 points), and now three-time MVP Nikola Jokic (22 points).
Though his No. 26 is not going up to the rafters, Lamb was a very solid player for a few years with the Pacers, and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
