The Indiana Pacers have a solid coaching staff. They have multiple coaches who have previous head coaching experience, although they should get a coach who is a little better defensively. That was supposed to be what Jim Boylen brought to the table this year.

Regardless, Indiana likes the staff they have. Rick Carlisle did a good job of getting the Pacers to the Eastern Conference Finals. They are a young team and it took a lot to get them to that point. The team had a lot of growth throughout the year and they hope they can continue that growth into next year.

The Lakers just hired JJ Redick as their head coach after much speculation. He is someone that comes to Los Angeles with no coaching experience at any level. He's never even been an assistant at the college level before. Reddick is looking for assistants who have that experience.

Could JJ Redick poach Pacers assistants?

Redick is going to be looking to try to get the best assistant coaches that he can. Could he poach some Pacers assistant coaches for his own staff? Indiana was one of the final four teams left in the league and they were a very impressive group. Redick saw that in the Eastern Conference Semifinals and the Eastern Conference Finals.

Lloyd Pierce is a coach who Redick could look at poaching. He's Carlisle's top assistant and has previous experience dealing with stars. He had to coach Trae Young in Atlanta. Redick is obviously going to be coaching one of the biggest stars in the game, LeBron James.

Redick could look at Jenny Boucek too. She has done a lot for the young Pacers, including fixing Andrew Nembhard's shot to release a little quicker. He is well-respected by the entire team. Losing either of those coaches would be a blow for Indiana.

We'll have to see what kind of system Redick wants to have with his team. That will determine what kind of assistant coaches he goes after to round out his staff.
