NBA teams during the offseason look to improve and adjust their rosters going into the next season. While the draft already took place last month, free agency has now started to cool off.

Another major route teams look to obtain the talent and key pieces they want is via the trade market. Indiana has found success with their in-season trades as of late. For instance, Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam have been wonderful acquisitions midseason over the past couple of years.

However, the Pacers historically have made those same calls to other general managers during the summer. Here, we take a look at three of the biggest summer swaps that helped transform the Indiana Pacers.

3. Chris Mullin

Though he played the majority of his career with the Golden State Warriors, Mullin became an Indiana Pacer after being shopped by his original team. Erick Dampier and Duane Ferrell were sent out West.

In his first two seasons with Indiana, Mullin never missed a game. He played and started all 82 games in the 1997-1998 season as well as all 50 games in the shortened 1998-1999 season.

Just like his Pacer teammate, Reggie Miller, Mullin was also a member of the 1992 USA Dream Team when they won Olympic gold. His scoring dipped significantly since his days with Golden State. Mullin would barely average 10-11 points a game during his first two seasons.

He did, however, earn career bests in both free-throw and three-point percentages as a Pacer, in separate seasons. He also started all 29 playoff games in those two postseasons for Indiana, as well.

In the 1999-2000 NBA season, Mullin would only play 49 games and start in just one of them. Relegated to more of a reserve role for the Pacers, he was waived following his third season with Indiana.

Formerly one-third of the tandem 'Run-TMC' on the Warriors, Mullin would return to play for Golden State in his last season in the league. He played in four different NBA All-Star Games while starting in two of them.
