4 Pacers whose stock rose in the NBA Summer League
By Scott Conrad
3. Jarace Walker
The former Houston Cougar was also selected in the first-round last year. The first year forward saw some decent time on the court for the Pacers in his rookie season. He played in 33 games and shot the ball at almost 41% while averaging almost two rebounds a game.
Walker had a much smaller role in the postseason as he saw limited action in his nine appearances. However, the young athlete showed his versatility during the Summer League for the Pacers.
In the four games he played, Wallace averaged 18 points on 42.6% shooting. He shot 45.8% from behind the arc and just shy of 79% from the charity stripe.
In the first game against Brooklyn, Wallace tallied 25 points on 50% field goal average. He also produced six rebounds and four assists.
The next game he had 15 points, eight rebounds and four more assists. Wallace made five of his 11 attempts from behind the arc.
The versatile second-year player then scored 19 points while only missing one of his five shots from three in the win against Phoenix. In his fourth and final game, Wallace recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. He had six assists to compliment his stat line.
In his sophomore year in the NBA, Wallace will make a wonderful component to Carlisle's rotation. He will most likely be the third option behind Aaron Nesmith and/or Toppin.
