4 Pacers at risk of being traded this summer
2. Bennedict Mathurin
Bennedict Mathurin had been playing some of his best basketball prior to suffering a devastating season-ending shoulder injury. The 21-year-old has averaged 19 points on 41.4 percent from distance over the last five games and has been a huge reason for the Pacers' top-ranked offense in 2023-24.
Mathurin can flat-out score.
He averaged 16.7 points as a rookie and has averaged 14.5 points and 37.4 percent from three as a reserve for Indy this season. However, the Pacers could stand to land an upgrade over him in the summer.
And they'll likely need to if they hope to ascend into the top tier of the Eastern Conference. Not to mention the fact that his presence curtails Jarace Walker's playing time.
And we know how bad the Pacers' defense is. They should be making it a priority to give Walker more playing time.
Especially since his 3-ball is falling (albeit on a small sample size). Mathurin could be the key to the Pacers getting a high-level contributor this summer.
