4 Pacers (and NBA) records that could be broken this season

There is potential for the Pacers to implant their name even more in the league's history books.

4. Most playoff games/wins by a Pacers head coach

Carlisle is also chasing history with the Pacers, mainly in terms of the postseason. If Indiana makes the playoffs again (as expected), he will tie Frank Vogel for the record of most trips to the playoffs as the head coach.

In addition, the Pacers are nine playoff games and five wins away from helping Carlisle move up past Vogel's marks. However, with seven more losses in the postseason, Carlisle will take over spots held by Vogel and Larry Bird (31 and 32 defeats in the playoffs, respectively).

Other than Slick Leonard, Carlisle is the only other Pacers head coach who has a win percentage above .500 in postseason play.

This will be Carlisle's fourth year in a row as the Pacers' leader along the sidelines. His previous stint with Indiana was also four years.

The Pacers only missed the fourth and final year of Carlisle's first expedition as head coach in Indiana. Since returning three years ago, this past season was the first trip back for the Pacers.

The potential for these historical moments among others is strong as Indiana looks to earn their first-ever championship in the league after being just four more wins removed from the NBA Finals.
